Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference (BRMCWC)

In Memorium - Yvonne Lehman

In 1967, Yvonne Lehman attended the 5th School of Christian Writing Conference held by the Billy Graham Association in Minneapolis, MN.

Again, in 1968, Yvonne attended as one of 151 from 31 states, Canada, and the Philippines.

Here (pictured right) she received the 1968 Dwight L. Moody Award for excellence in Christian Literature for her short story, The Gold Star.

This award allowed Yvonne to make vital connections that opened doors for the publication of her first novel, Red Like Mine, in January 1970.

This, of course, opened doors to her starting The Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference (BRMCWC) in 1976 …

… Which led you to this place and to the plans God has for your life.

“As the Year of Jubilee (2026) nears for the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, I will be sharing more photos and history of this revolutionary conference, including my mother’s maverick move to include a film track which inspired me some 20 years later to start the Gideon Film Festival. More to come!”
